100 MONTHS!!!

When I asked Steve a few weeks ago if I could run in a race July 8th, he told me he had something planned for us that weekend. He wouldn't tell me where or what we were doing, but my sister Natalie showed up Friday to babysit the kids, I got dressed and had a couple interesting conversations with Steve to find out what I should be wearing. While I was getting ready for the nameless event, Steve brought me some pennies. There were 8 stacks of pennies, with 12 pennies in each stack. There was a 9th stack with only 4 pennies. Steve told me this was a clue to our getaway. HUH?? I had NO idea what it meant! We left for our night away and he wanted me to figure out why were going. I seriously had no clue. I kept thinking about the pennies, but just couldn't figure it out. Finally after questioning, not a lot of help, and 20 minutes in the car I figured out that each penny represents a month! 12 pennies in a stack equals a year, the 4 extra pennies were the extra 4 months...We've been married 8 years and 4 months, or 100 MONTHS!! How cute is Steve to even realize that?! He said he'd been planning to celebrate our 100 month anniversary for a few years.
We drove to Park City where we went to the Olympic Park and went zip lining and down the Alpine slide. It was so fun!! We also got to see some ski-jumpers practicing. Steve took me to eat sushi for dinner, my favorite! We drove around beautiful Park City, sat in the hot tub, went to the grocery store, ate frozen yogurt, and just hung out. Saturday Steve gave me $100 that he had been saving and we went shopping at the Outlets & at the Gateway.
It's been a great 100 months with you Steve! I love you so much and I'm so thankful for everything you do for me and our kids. Here's to many more 100's together!!

Dahl Family Reunion

We have a Dahl Family Reunion every other year. This was the first reunion without any grandparents there. Grandpa passed away just this past February. All of my dad's siblings and their kids and grandkids were there. We rented three houses at Zion Ponderosa and had a blast together! We enjoyed swimming, chatting, a "Favorite Things" exchange with all the girls, an outdoor jeep adventure, a talent show, and of course lots of good food! I feel so blessed to come from such a wonderful family!
