Zoo Day!

Grammy wanted to take Michael to the zoo for his birthday so we met her, Lori, Brookly, and Savannah and had a great time. There were hardly any people there and we got to see the baby elephant, baby giraffe, and baby tiger! We also got to ride the carousel and the train. Thanks Mom--we loved it!!

A Fall Day in the Mountains

Steve's parents were camping up at Jordanelle, so we decided to go spend the day with them. The leaves were gorgeous driving up Parley's Canyon. We enjoyed throwing rocks into the reservoir for quite a while. It was a photo opportunity as three generations were skipping rocks and reminded me of the poem Steve wrote for his dad a few years ago called "The Unthrown Stone".

9.9.09 First Day of Preschool!

Today was our first day of preschool! Kaitlyn went with me last year to preschool, but this officially marks her first day of being 3 and going to preschool. The kids in my class are really cute this year, I'll just need a nap when I get home :)!! After preschool when Steve got home from work he asked Kaitlyn if she likes her teacher. She just looked at him like he was an idiot and said, "It's Mom!" So I hope she likes me! Anyway, I can tell that she's 3 now. She's one of the best kids in the class now that she's already done it for a year and knows the routine.

Tony Grove

Ever since I went up to Tony Grove for just a few minutes back when I was in college, I have wanted to go camping there. We finally did it this year! We had so much fun with a few other families in our neighborhood. We brought some kayaks, canoes, and a little motorized boat to take out on the lake. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water. They even found a snake! It was so beautiful there with all the pine trees, the lake, and great friends! Michael and Kaitlyn got SO dirty and I didn't even care because we were camping! We went for a walk around all the camp sites and Kaitlyn wanted to pick every flower.

Michael was totally worn out from all that fun at the lake. Steve went to carry him on his shoulders and he refused to sit up! So this is how Steve (with a broken foot) had to hike back to our camp site!

Coming March 2010

Steve's dad has a space in his backyard for cement blocks that have each of his decendants names. Everyone can decorate their square as they choose with hand/foot prints, sayings, or whatever. He has been asking Steve to do one for Michael and Kaitlyn for a couple years now so we decided to get it done! We also suprised them and brought an extra square along to announce that we'll be having a baby in March! This will be grandchild #30 for them. March 23rd is the due date!

We went out to dinner with my parents to tell them the news. We ate at the Happy Sumo at the gateway. I LOVE that place!! I think my dad already knew (I mean come on--it's not like I ever ask my parents if they want to go out for sushi), but my mom was pretty suprised! My dad said he'll take us out for sushi on any grandchildren announcements--I'll hold you to it, dad! Thanks!!

24th of July

We started off celebrating the 24th with the Bountiful fireworks on the 23rd. Steve's parents live right across the street from where they do the fireworks so it's an awesome show! I think they had at least 13 cars parked in front of their house of family and friends!

The next morning we threw all our camping gear together and drove to Steve's Uncle Jay's farm near Downey, ID where we camped with Steve's parents, Matt & Jackie, Scott, Clark & Steph, Brett & Allison, Greg & Jill & all their families. There were 4-wheelers, motor bikes and a golf cart that I literally don't think ever stopped driving the entire time we were there. The girls that were ages 8-10 thought that was pretty much the coolest thing ever that they could drive a golf cart! Michael was in heaven riding on 4-wheelers and motorcyles with whoever would take him and Kaitlyn had a blast playing with all the older girls.

I got to shoot a gun for the very first time! It was a lot of fun. I tried several different types of guns and I think I did pretty good for my first time! I want to go shooting again!

He's Back!!!!

I'm no longer a single mother--I've got my hubby back! Tonight was the last night of the play! He did such a great job and I'm really glad he had the experience but I'm happy to have him around again! I got to see the play 6 times and it was so much fun every time (except watching Steve dance with another girl). :) Love you honey--great job!!
